Agent Commission Structure

Exactly what a FinFlo agent earns — on mobile money cash-in and cash-out, and on YEM trades. Every rate below is the same one the apps use to pay you.

No hidden deductions. No joining fee for mobile money agency.

At a glance

Two commission programs

A FinFlo agent can run one or both. They are paid separately, in different currencies, into different balances.

Program 1

Mobile Money agency

50%of the customer's cash-out fee

  • Cash-out (customer withdraws cash from you) — a fixed commission per amount band, worth half the fee the customer pays.
  • Cash-in (you deposit into a customer's wallet) — 1.5% of the amount, paid by FinFlo. The customer pays nothing.
  • Paid in UGX into your Commission balance, instantly, per transaction.

Requires: verified agent account, KYC, float. No licence fee.

Program 2

YEM Trade (OTC)

2%of every YEM trade you settle

  • You pay a seller cash (or USDT) and receive their YEM back plus 2% on top.
  • Paid in YEM, claimed to your YEM UID once the seller confirms they received their money.
  • Trade in any currency you and your customer agree on — worldwide.

Requires: Trade YEM licence + security deposit (see below).

Program 1

Mobile Money agent commissions

Two directions of cash movement, two different ways you are paid.

Cash-out

Customer takes cash from you

Wallet → your till, whether the customer confirms in-app or you scan their QR code. Student Card and Pocket Card cash-outs earn on the same table, settled straight into your wallet instead of your Commission balance.

  1. The customer is debited amount + the tiered fee from their wallet.
  2. Your float rises by the full amount — you hand over that cash.
  3. Your Commission balance rises by the tier commission — roughly half the fee. FinFlo keeps the rest.

Amounts of UGX 500 and below are free for the customer and earn no commission.

Cash-in

You deposit into a customer's wallet

Your till → wallet, or straight out to any mobile money number.

  1. The customer pays no fee at all.
  2. Your float drops by the amount; their wallet is credited in full.
  3. You earn 1.5% of the amount, funded by FinFlo, straight into your Commission balance.

Sending to an external mobile money number earns the same 1.5%, calculated on the UGX value of the payout.

Cash-out commission table

Fixed amounts per band — not a percentage. The customer fee is disclosed to them before they confirm.

2,000,001 – 5,000,000 35,200 17,600 50% 0.35%

All figures in UGX. Amounts above 5,000,000 use the top band. Bands are inclusive of the upper amount.

The same table in US dollars

For agents who think in dollars. Converted at the platform rate of UGX 4,700 = $1. UGX is the currency of record: you are charged, credited, and paid in shillings, so treat these as a guide that moves with the rate.

Transaction amount Customer fee Your commission Your commission (UGX)
Up to $0.11 Free
$0.11 – $0.53 $0.07 $0.04 165
$0.53 – $1.06 $0.09 $0.05 220
$1.06 – $6.38 $0.19 $0.09 440
$6.38 – $12.77 $0.26 $0.13 605
$12.77 – $26.60 $0.41 $0.20 963
$26.60 – $53.19 $0.76 $0.38 1,788
$53 – $106 $1.23 $0.61 2,888
$106 – $213 $2.22 $1.11 5,225
$213 – $426 $4.21 $2.11 9,900
$426 – $1,064 $7.49 $3.74 17,600

Dollar bands are the UGX bands converted, so they shift as the rate does — the band that applies to a transaction is always decided in UGX.

Cash-in, in dollars

Cash-in pays 1.5% of the amount, so the dollar figure scales with no table needed: about $1.50 for every $100 you deposit into a customer's wallet, or $15 per $1,000.

YEM trades, in dollars

YEM commission is 2% of the trade, so it is already currency-neutral: a trade worth $500 pays you about $10 in YEM, and a $5,000 trade about $100. You settle in whatever currency you and your customer agree on.

Thresholds, in dollars

Cash-outs at or below $0.11 are free and earn nothing. The minimum earnings withdrawal of UGX 10,000 is about $2.13. The YEM fuel fee of UGX 3,000 is about $0.64.

Worked example · Cash-out

Customer withdraws UGX 100,000

Customer wallet debited
UGX 101,925
Cash you hand over
UGX 100,000
Your float increases by
UGX 100,000
You earn
UGX 963about $0.20

Fee of UGX 1,925 is split: UGX 963 to you, UGX 962 to the platform.

Worked example · Cash-in

You deposit UGX 100,000 for a customer

Customer pays in fees
Nothing
Customer wallet credited
UGX 100,000
Your float decreases by
UGX 100,000
You earn (1.5%)
UGX 1,500about $0.32

On many bands cash-in pays more than cash-out. Serving both directions keeps your float cycling and your earnings up.

Your money

Where mobile money commission lands

Commission is credited the moment a transaction completes — nothing to invoice, nothing to wait for.

Commission balance

A dedicated earnings balance, separate from your working float. Visible on your Agent app dashboard with a per-period breakdown of volume and commission.

Move it to float

Convert any part of your earnings into working capital with your PIN, instantly. Useful when demand for cash-in outruns your till.

Withdraw it

Cash out earnings to mobile money or bank. Minimum UGX 10,000 per withdrawal; standard withdrawal charges apply (mobile money 1%, min UGX 1,000 / max UGX 10,000; bank transfer UGX 5,000 flat).

Referral split

If you joined FinFlo through someone's referral, 0.5% of your gross UGX commission on each transaction goes to whoever referred you, and you keep the remaining 99.5%. It comes out of the commission slice — it is never an extra charge to your customer, and it does not apply to YEM trades. Where the referral programme is switched off for an account, you keep the full commission.

Program 2

YEM Trade (OTC) commissions

YEM holders sell to you; you pay them out in cash or USDT and receive their YEM plus your commission.

How a 5% trade fee is split

The seller is charged 5% in YEM on top of the YEM they are selling. That fee is the only source of your commission — nothing is taken from your own balance.

The seller also pays a UGX 3,000 network fuel fee from their Fuel Fee Wallet. That fee covers on-chain costs and is refunded if you decline the trade — it is not part of your commission.

Worked example · YEM trade

A customer sells you 100 YEM

Seller's YEM debited
105 YEM100 + 5% fee
Cash / USDT you pay them
Value of 100 YEMat the live sell rate, in your agreed currency
YEM you receive
102 YEM100 principal + 2 commission
Platform keeps
3 YEM3%

Your 2% is calculated on the YEM value of the trade, so it scales with the size of the deal in whatever currency you settle in.

Step 1

Trade is settled

The seller's YEM is held the moment they request the trade. You pay them cash in person, or send USDT (TRC20) to their address, and mark the trade complete.

Step 2

Buyer confirms receipt

Your commission sits as unclaimed until the seller taps “Received my Cash”. This protects both sides — and is why keeping payouts prompt keeps your earnings flowing.

Step 3

Claim to your UID

Claim all confirmed commissions at once and the total YEM — your principal plus commission — is sent on-chain to your own YEM UID.

When commission is not paid

If you decline a trade, the seller's YEM and fuel fee are returned and no commission is created. If a dispute is resolved in the seller's favour, the commission on that trade is voided. Declined and failed trades never appear as claimable earnings.

Becoming a YEM trade agent

One-time onboarding to unlock OTC trading. Payable by mobile money (UGX) or PayPal (USD), and the mobile money route can be paid in two parts.

Item UGX USD Notes
Trade YEM licence 1,000,000 250.00 Renewed annually (365 days).
Security deposit 4,000,000 1,000.00 Held, not spent. May be used to make a customer whole if you fail to settle a trade.
Total to activate 5,000,000 1,250.00 Choose the currencies you will trade in when you activate.

You also set your own minimum and maximum trade size, so you only receive requests you can actually fund.

For clarity

What agents do not earn commission on

We publish this so there are no surprises when you check your earnings.

Wallet-to-wallet transfers

Sending money between FinFlo wallets is free for users and carries no agent commission.

Bills, airtime and data

Utility, airtime and data purchases carry their own service fees to the payer. No agent commission is attached to them.

Merchant payments

Customer-to-merchant payments are charged to the merchant, not the customer, and are outside the agent programme.

Very small cash-outs

Withdrawals of UGX 500 and below are free to the customer, so no commission is generated.

Fuel and network fees

The UGX 3,000 fuel fee on YEM trades covers on-chain costs. It is not shared with agents.

Teller OTC withdrawals

Over-the-counter teller withdrawals charge the customer from the same fee table, but the fee is not shared as agent commission.

Your own top-ups

Funding your float or your Fuel Fee Wallet is a transfer of your own money — it earns nothing and is not a commissionable transaction.

Mobile money agency needs nothing more than a verified account and float. YEM trading unlocks with a licence and security deposit. Many agents run both.
